could you help me? i bought a yamaha modx8+, but i sent it again to the shop because it has a problem with the black keys, when you play the black keys fast and hard, decreases the intensity or volume of the sound, so i was thinking about to buy the modx6 and use its sounds with a MIDI. could you tell me the best midi with 88 keys to use with yamaha modx6?

If they do a take 5 version of the OBXA, I might just sell my UBXA lol.

Roland is funny. $199 upgrade for EX. You can buy the Fantom 8 for 3600. BUT, if you buy the NEW EX, it's 4200.00 So, buy the original, buy ex expansion. Spend 3800 and save 400.00 for the lack of a STICKER added by the factory. LOL. ROLAND YOU ARE INSANE!

Jack , let's talk straight : Take 5 or TEo 5 ....if ya had to keep one : to do actually music / produce .... ? Exellent as usual !!!! By the way blue lines are not for style , like old ampeg amps , it was to give a sort of graduation infos on knobs .... it is super handy once you get the concept !!

I always look forward to your synth demos, but this one fell a bit flat. Chris does a good job of covering the specs and features of the synth, but the sounds he chose to demonstrate were pretty awful. Basically the TEO-5 sounds like a detuned fart machine with a bit of static sparkle sprinkled on for good measure. For the $$$$, the product rep should be making this instrument sing.

I just chose the ob-6 keyboard because it was £1600 on ebay LOL

I've grown away from any synth with a ton of knobs, menu diving, and costs more than 3k USD. I think the Astrolab was a refreshing, to the point kind of synth reasonably priced.

My only concern about this is the limited number of keys. I would love it to play Van Halen songs, but I feel like I would need more keys.

No thanks. I'll take the RD-88 just for the action. Korg's action is nice but not better than the PHA-4. Yamaha actions have overly textured black keys, which is distracting and an immersion breaker.

I have Take 5 and was dreaming of OB 6. In your opinion, is this TEO closer to Take or OB6 (sound)? Does it make sense to Take it for those who have the Take?

Looks cool, but man, nothing even comes close or competes with my Roland FP10 (in terms of price to performance) connected to a PC running Pianoteq, Vital or any other plugin I want and listening thought a really good pair of speakers and subwoofer. PHA4 action for 400€ and the best instrument simulations though the PC and the best quality sound through a good pair of speakers and subs. Love it to death.

I bought a yc 73 and am struggling to like the piano. I am a pianist and wouldn’t call myself picky but just find the piano almost unplayable. Organ and eps are good though. I am confused. I have played the cp88 before and loved the piano and it’s the same patch but I don’t like any of the pianos on the yc 73. Am I doing something wrong?

How in 2024 do you only get 256 user banks...lovely synth but I mean what is going on with memory on synths being so small still?

Interesting this is not a Sequential synth. I suppose Oberheim licensed the form factor with Sequential

Why does this synth remind me of the Take 5 so much? TEO-5/Take-5, layout and function of controls, price point. I'm not an expert by far though...

Nice, I have a OB-6 Module, but this is interesting as an extra to create completely new Oberheim sounds. I also have the Take 5, so I can see the possibility's in sounds design. Love patch used with the sequencer and the outro.

Yes!!! I've been waiting for a synth like this. The Oberheim sound + DSI / Sequential style engine = lots of freedom in sound design. The sonic flexibility is going to be huge. Thanks!
